A Rare Stoneware Wine Flask (called a “Schraubflasche” in German), cylindrical with a pewter screw top, sloped shoulder and white glazed body with applied silvered decoration of a scrolling branch with leaves and berries. Silvered underglazed mark on base.

Rare Antique Chinese Export red lacquer melon-form tea caddy with six loebed sides, three gilt dragon paw feet, gilt decoration of figures in gardens on body and hinged lid with carved “stem,” opening to a similarly shaped tin liner. Circa 1825. Height, 5.5”; Diameter, 6.25” Gourds and mellons had a particular significance in Chinese culture.

Chinese Export Black Lacquer Tea Chest, rectangular with cut corners and lobbed body with gilt decoration of figures in courtyards; the stepped, hinged lid opening to two pewter lidded and engraved caddies and the whole raised on gilt dragon-form feet. Fine Pair of Grand Tour Bronze and Ormolu Candlesticks in the Empire style with fluted baluster shaped shafts , with acanthus decoration on gilt-bronze sections and paw feet raised atop tripartite bases. These would have been brought home as a souvenir by someone who had made the Grand Tour. France or Italy, circa 1870.

#530 Antique Anglo-Indian Tea Chest, sandalwood overlaid with strips of elk horn. The box is rectangular with sloped sides.
