Charming Majolica Ceramic Face Jug in the form of a smiling man with a cap and ruffled collar. Circa 1880, incised “Majolica” with indecipherable maker’s mark
on bottom. (Minor abrasions
to ear, cheeks, nose and chin.)
A fine and unusual late 19th century European colored biscuit-ware plaque depicting an allegorical female figure holding an oil lamp.

Antique Spode Pottery Transfer Decorated Ceramic Wine Cooler,* oval with applied handles, ribbed body and rope turned rim, the whole with yellow and blue transfer decoration. English, circa 1810.
(two tiny chips, numerous frits)
*Originally designed as a footbath, these large basins are today used as wine coolers.

Humorous Staffordshire Pottery "Admiral Nelson" Pitcher moulded in the form of Lord Nelson (but missing the wrong arm) with a rather strategically placed spout, and a Rockingham mottled brown glaze. Probably English, circa 1850.

Large Blue Willow Cake Plate by Copeland; circular with gilt rim and typical blue willow transfer decoration, raised on a circular, fluted pillar and a similarly decorated base. Impressed marks under plate. English, circa 1881.

Tall Antique Chinese Export Rose Medallion Vase of baluster form with applied salamander decoration and foo dog handles having ten painted panels with figural or bird and blossom decoration surrounded by floral decoration.

Two 1/2 gallon stoneware jugs from Alexandria Virginia, made at the Wilkes Street Pottery by Benedict C. Milburn, circa 1865: One with his stamp and "Alexa" the other with the stamp of the merchant E.J. Miller who had a ceramics shop on lower King Street. Height of each: 8"
