Fine Antique Chinese Famille Noire Vase of baluster form decorated with exotic birds and blossoms. Qing Dynasty, Circa 1870, now wired as a lamp.

The Black Ground which gives Famille
Noire its Western name is "Modi susancai"
Exceptional pair of 18th century delft vases fitted as bouillote lamps and now wired for electricity with ormolu mounts; having octagonal baluster form bodies with bird and floral decoration and scrolling candle arms. Probably French, Circa 1760-80.
