Watercolorist Reginald Daniel Sherrin typically depicted landscapes and coastal scenes of southeast England. He himself was born in Kent and later settled in Devon. Some of Sherrin’s work is signed with a pseudonym, either J Whitely or DA Niel , the later a possible play in his father’s name, Daniel Sherrin, who was also a painter. Sherrin’s thoughtful and clear depictions of the English countryside were quite popular. He is listed in Hidden Talents (Wood, 1994).
