Bronze of a Setter By Clovis-Edmond Masson (French, 1838-1913) Signed and Inscribed: "Salon des Beaux Arts" Clovis Edmund Masson was born in Paris, where he also died in 1913. He was the student of Santiago, Barye and Rouillard. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1867 to 1881 and also exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he won an honorable mention in 1890. He was an Animalier who was best know for his group of Goats at Market (in the Château-Thierry Museum). He is listed in: McKay, Dictionary of Western Sculptors in Bronze. Height:11" |
