Known for her plein air style, Browning worked in oils, tempera, and watercolors. She was a member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. In addition to participating in exhibitions at both those institutions, her work was also shown by the Royal Academy, New English Art Club and numerous international venues. She was twice awarded medals at the Paris Salon, winning a silver in 1912 and gold in 1922. Her work is held in in the permanent collections of a number of public institutions.
