William Taylor Oughton (American, b. 1925) Wyatt Earp Pencil sketch on paper, inscribed and signed, framed with the dust jacket of the book Who Rides with Wyatt by Will Henry. A copy of the book is included. Copyright 1954. An award winning artist, Oughton’s work has been published in numerous magazines, books and advertisements. Readers’ Digest, The Saturday Evening Post, Field and Stream, Cosmopolitan and Outdoor Life have all used his illustrations to accompany stories or decorate their covers. In addition, his advertising clients have ranged from Johnson and Johnson, to Squibb and the New Jersey Lottery. The Franklin Mint and Lenox Collectibles have also used his work in a variety of items. Although kept busy with a career in illustration, Oughton has found time for exhibitions and has had five one man shows at the Philadelphia Gallery. His talent has been recognized with awards from The New York Society of Illustrators, The Philadelphia and New Jersey Art Directors Clubs and The Delaware Valley Artists Guild.
