Alice R. Hardwick (American, b. 1876)

Born in 1876 in Chicago, Illinois, Alice Hardwick studied at the Art Students League in New York and in Holland and Belgium. She was a member of the Springfield Art League, the North Shore Art Association, the Copley Society, the American Federation of Arts, and the Society of Independent Artists. Hardwick exhibited in New York and Philadelphia galleries, at the Copley Gallery in Boston (solo), the Society of Independent Artists, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Alice Hardwick and her husband, artist Melbourne H. Hardwick, took several trips to Holland and Belgium, where they both painted local scenes. The artist is listed in Falk, Who Was Who in American Art.
