Rare Anglo-Indian carved ebony armchair with all over leaf, vine and floral carved decoration, with a shaped crestrail above twist turned spindles and shaped baserail, the rectangular uprights surmounted by leaf-carved finials join the slightly downswepts similarly carved armrests; the caned, drop in seat surrounded by carved seatrails and raised on twist turned legs joined by a shaped and carved box stretcher. Coromandel Coast, Circa 1660-1680.
