Sabatino studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York. This lead to a long and successful career in television advertising in New York City. When he retired in 1988, he moved to Arizona and began to pursue his interest in painting. Inspired by a lifelong interest in American Indians and the American Southwest, he has made a specialty of Native American images in his still life paintings. His work has been featured in the magazine, South West Art and is held in the permanent collections of The Leaning Tree Museum, Boulder Co and Raymond James Financial Center, Florida, as well as many private individuals.

Sabatino is listed in the "Biographical Encyclopedia of American Painters, Sculptors & Engravers of the U.S.: Colonial to 2002" by Creps.
