Painting size: 12” x 16” Born in England, landscape painter Joseph H. Ensor settled in Boston, Massachusetts. With a bright pallate and Impressionist brushwork, Ensor describes the sweep of a breeze through a line of roadside trees that lead to a solid Federal house. The image is a nod to both the 18th- and 19th- century artistic traditions that informed his work. Joseph H. Ensor is listed in Who Was Who in American Art (Falk, 1999). |
