Watson was a landscape and figure painter who worked in both oils and watercolors. He was educated in Scarborough, England and Winnipeg, Canada and received a scholarship from the Royal College of Art (1889-94). Watson was elected a member of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours (1916) and the Royal West of England Academy (1927). He taught at the Regent Street Polytechnic from 1913 until his death in 1936 in London.
