J. Stewart Barney (American, 1869-1925)

Barney was born in Richmond, Virginia in 1869. He was a painter, architect, sculptor and writer. He exhibited a collection of Scottish and American landscapes at the Ehrich Galleries in New York City in 1924 and was a member of the Newport Art Association.
He is listed in: Falk, Who Was Who in American Art, and Young, Dictionary of American Artists.
